a) to treat someone badly or cause problems for them: (ปฏิบัติอย่างไม่ดีกับใครกับใคร หรือ สร้างความยุ่งยากให้ใคร)
- Giving you a hard time, is she? เธอน่ะสร้างความลำบากให้กับคุณใช่มั้ย?
- They reached the border where officials gave them a hard time. พวกเขาไปถึงชายแดนซึ่งเจ้าหน้าที่ที่นั่นปฎิบัติต่อพวกเขาไม่ดีเลย
